Ranking results of 48 hospitals to help people enjoy maximum health insurance
According to current regulations, the medical examination and treatment system in Vietnam is divided into 3 levels of technical expertise: initial – basic – advanced, instead of the previous division of commune – district – province – central.
On 8/1, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health) announced the results of the technical professional ranking of 48, a unit under the Ministry of Health.
Among them, there are 4 hospitals are ranked as high-tech specialized hospitals, including: Bach Mai, Cho Ray, Hue Central General Hospital and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. All hospitals have a score of more than 90. In addition, there are 25 units ranked at the specialized level, with scores ranging from 71 to 86.
Specifically, in Hanoi has 20 specialized hospitals including: Vietnam – Germany Friendship, Central Children’s Hospital, E, K (3 facilities), Central Endocrinology, Central Dentistry Hanoi, Central Lung Hospital, Central Eye Hospital, Central Dermatology Hospital, Central Traditional Medicine Hospital, Central Acupuncture Hospital, Central Psychiatry I, Central Geriatrics, Central Ear – Nose – Throat Hospital, Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Central Tropical Diseases Hospital, Hanoi Medical University and Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
IN Ho Chi Minh City and other localities There are 5 hospitals: Ho Chi Minh City Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology, Thong Nhat, Can Tho Central General Hospital, Da Nang Central Hospital and Thai Nguyen Central General Hospital.

The publication of the ranking results and scores of each medical facility under the Ministry of Health is the basis for people and “lower-level” facilities to more conveniently transfer to the right address.
For example, in Circular 01, the Ministry of Health publicly announced 2 lists including: 62 diseases, rare diseases, dangerous diseases, diseases requiring surgery or using high technology. be taken straight to the hospital; 105 diseases and groups of diseases can be examined and treated at basic facilities without the need for a referral. This policy is applied from January 1, 2025.
